Imagery and AI

EarthBae uses AI-generated imagery in parts of its marketing. This page explains where it appears, how it is labeled, and the rules every image has to meet before it is published.

Where AI imagery appears

Some EarthBae product and lifestyle images are generated with AI tools rather than captured with a camera. These appear on product pages, on the homepage, in The EarthBae Journal, and across EarthBae social channels.

Other images are photographs of the physical product. Both are used, and the labeling below tells you which is which.

How AI imagery is labeled

Any image containing a photorealistic AI-generated person carries a visible disclosure. On social channels, that disclosure is the final line of the caption. On earthbaewear.com, it appears adjacent to the image.

The standard line reads: Imagery: AI-generated. People depicted are not real individuals.

Those people are not real. They are not digital replicas or likenesses of any identifiable person.

Product-only images with no person in frame are sometimes AI-generated as well. These carry embedded provenance metadata rather than a visible caption line.

What AI imagery is never used for

AI imagery is never used to depict a product feature that does not exist.

Every AI image is checked against the physical garment before publication. Construction, hardware placement, controls, colorways, and fit shown in an image match what ships in the box. Where an image cannot be made accurate, it is not published.

This rule sits above every other consideration in EarthBae image production. A disclosure label does not cure an inaccurate depiction, and no image is worth misrepresenting a product.

Provenance metadata

AI-generated EarthBae images retain the provenance information embedded by the tool that created them, including content credentials under the C2PA standard and any watermarking the tool applies.

EarthBae does not strip provenance metadata and does not use watermark removal tools. If a platform's own processing removes that metadata during upload, the visible disclosure still applies.

Why EarthBae uses it

EarthBae is an independent brand based in Asheville, North Carolina, building a new category in Active Thermal Regulation.

AI imagery lets a brand at this stage show its products across the range of real situations people actually wear them in. The alternative is a production budget that would otherwise go into the garments themselves.

Illustrating what you cannot photograph

Thermal regulation is invisible. A photograph of a heated vest running on medium and a photograph of the same vest switched off are the same photograph.

So EarthBae uses illustrations to show mechanism: where the three heating zones sit, how air moves through the EarthBae Air Fan Cooling Vest, how chilled water circulates through the EarthBae Chill Liquid Cooling Vest. These are diagrams of how the system works.

Illustrations are presented as illustrations, visibly distinct from product photography, and labeled as such. They are never blended into a photorealistic image of someone wearing the product.

The red LED on the EarthBae Core Heated Hoodie and the EarthBae Heat vests is the exception, because it is real. It genuinely illuminates when the garment is powered, and images show it that way.
